l V Pupiis Receive Prizes And Sports Awards The annual breaking-up ceremony at Horowhenua College and presentation of awards and prizes won during the year was held yesterday. The assembly was presided over by the chairman of the Advisory Board, Mr.,F. H. Hudson. Also on the platform were Mrs. C. Bartholomew and Mr. E. D. Bell (board members), Mr. N. R. Seddon (chairman of the Wellington Education Board) and Mrs. Seddon, Mr. D. K. Guy (Education Board member), Mr. N. A. Byrne (principal) and Mrs. Byrne, Mrs. W. D. Thomas, Mrs. H. B. Burdekin • , (Mayoress) , Miss M. Hudson and members of the college staff. Apologies for absence were - received from the' Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, Dr. S. Jf.. Thompson and Mr. D. P. Todd. There was a fairly large attendance of parents and friends. During the afternoon the visitors were treated to items by the school orchestra and songs and Christmas carols by the school. Highlight of the afternoon was the presenration of the awards won during the year. The special pyizes were presepted bv Mrs. Bvrne. the class awards by
Mrs. Seddon and the sports awards by Mrs. Bartholomew. The following is the list of prizes and awards: — Athletics. — Senior girl: Valerie Watts. Senior boy: Adrian Lee.
