Greece Getting Back To Peacetime Conditions
LONDON, Dec. 4. The Times' Athens correspondent says the Greek Government has an1 nounced that the eurfew in the capital area will be lifted next week. Emboldened by tll'e Greek army 's restoration of internal order, the Government has embarked on a succession of measures designed to restore normal peacetime conditions. Parliament, after its formal opening for the fourth and last session, will be asked next week to approve the Governmen t plans for transition from wai to pearce However, both the Government and Opposition have voiced approval in che Press of President Trnman 's - warning when talking about Greece, that "Communist expansion is a stnbbom force which can only be countered by equally persistent vigilariee and patienee." The Government plans, nevertheless, to include', besidea the gradual relaxation of wartime emergency measures, : the holding of a General Election next ' April. Some weeks before that the present Government is expected to give way to a caretaker Government to make the polling arrangements nnfettered by 1 Party bias.
