Children Adopt Small Monkey Found In Trees
AUCKLAND, Dec. 6. Small boys in Mt. Roskill have been having a big time with a small monkey since they found it yesterday in a belt of trees near a residential area. It did not escape from the zoo, so presumably is owned by ^omebody in the district. Keeping a monkey without a n°rmit is not allowed by law. Tfm children, since yesterday, have been feeding the animal with apples, peanuts and milk. Today it fed from their hands and took a protective interest in them. When an adult touched the children, the monkey spat and jumoed excitedly from branch to branch. SnuVgled uo to a young boy, it posed attractively for a photographer, but pulled a face and jumned in the air when the flash went off.
