Maori Later Arrested And Charged
. TAUMARUNUI, Dec. 6. A Maori, Robert Heremia, aged 25, wa§ arrested last night on charges of murdering his wife, Ruby Heremia, and Peter Tarawa. It is alleged that the murder took place about 10 o'clock last night in Heremia's home on Hospital Hill, Taumarunui, and that the victims were killed with an axe. Both had severe wounds in the face and an axe was found in the room where the bodies were lying. , Heremia, who was formerly a resident of Ruatoki, in the Whakatane County, was charged in the Taumarunui Court this morning, before Justices, with the murder of Peter Tarawa, formerly of North Auckland, and accused's wife, Ruby Heremia, formerly of Tokaanu. Accused was remanded to appear at Auckland Court on December 14. The ages of the two deceased are not known, but they were young people.
