Funeral Of Late Mr. Grey Largely Attended

— The large a'ttendance at the funeral yesterday attemoon of the late Mr. John Bertram Grey, o'f Levin, whose death occurred on Saturday, gave striking evidence of the high' esteem in which he was hsld. Electric supply authority executives, returned servicemen and members of the Masonic Lodge, with whom Mr. Grey had been closely associated in his lifetime, 'were strongly represenfed, his service in these spheres having won him high admiration. St. Mary's Angliean Church was, filled for a service con'ducted there by Rev. G. B. Stote-Blandy. The casket, draped with the Union Jack, was borne from the church by Messrs C. Grey, > H. McBain and R. Mailand. (all of Lowei Hutt), and Messrs J. F. Bryce (Horowhenua Power Board) , L. Carr (Hutt Valley Power Board) and R. Aldridge (South Taranaki Power Board) . The cortege- to the cemetery comprised some 40 cars and the pall-bearers to the graveside were Messrs G. Hay (Hutt R.S.A.), E. Craven (Rawhiti Lodge, Dannevirke) and S. Palmer (Lodge Te Puni, Lower Hutt) and Messrs T. Ecclesfield, J. P. Bertram and W. G. Benning (representing Lodge Horowhenua, Levin, and the Levin R.S.A.). The burial rites were performed by Mr. Stote-Blandy, while Messrs C. V/. Foster, J. A. Chapman, W. Cressy and P. W. Anderson conducted the Masonic service. At the conclusion members of the R.S.A. filed past the grave, dropping in memorial poppies. - Floral emblems were numerous and beautiful, including tributes from the Horowhenua Power Board, Lodge Horowhenua, Hutt Valley R.S.A., Hutt Valley Power Board's Social Club, Electric Power Boards' and Supply Authorities' Association, Waitomo Power Board, Hutt Valley Power Board, Levin Bowling Club, Ihakara Indoor Bowling Club and Electric Supply Ehgineers' Institute. Along with the many messages of sympathy received, they expressed the wealt'h of sympathy felt for the late Mr. Grey's widow; daughter (Mrs. G. Barrett) and son (Mr. Ian Grey),
