Lost Own Life In Saving Young Girl
Received Sunday, 7 p,m. SYDNEY, Dec. 4. A married ex-serviceman, aged 24 years, who was unable to swiiu, saved a girl aged seven from drowning in Hacking River, New South Wales, at the expense of his own life. He was Clive Graham Sayers, of Sydney. When supervising members of a Chureh of England Sunday School party, he saw a girl slip from the bank into the water. He jumped in fully clothed, paddled his way to the giil and pushed her toward the bank. Men in a boat rescued the girl but Sayers sank in 20 feet of water. His body was recovered later.
