GISBORNE, Nov. 20. A 16-year-old youth, Gustav Prederick Frank, lies in hospital tonight in a grave condition suffering from a bullet wound in the stomach as the result Df a shooting achident shortly after midday today. Frank and two companions, Kevin Griffiths, aged 18, and Clive Kenneth Whitehead, went to Longbush, eight miles from Gisborne, at 6 p.m. on fc'riday to camp there for the weekend. About midday today the youths went opossum shooting. According to statements to the police, Griffiths was carrying a .22 halibrfi rifle and When one of the trio called out he had spotted an opossum. up a tree, Griffiths turned and his rifle discharged. Frank received the bullet in the stomach. The injured. youth was rushed to hospital where his condition isyeported to be very serious.
