A margin of 54 runs gave Weraroa a comfortable nve-pjintsr over Shannon. With first use of the wicket, Shannon notched 109, J. McNeile (22), T. Roach (20) and B. Harris (16) being the main contriibutors. Partrcuiarly fine bowiing by K. De Casi.ro was a feature of the Weraroa afctack and he finally emerged with the excelleht average of eight wickets for 31 runs off 17- overs, three of which were maidens. Weraroa replifc'd with 163 and 49 of this total came from a forceful knock by J. Ryder. Other batsmen to reach double figures were P. Jukes (23), S. Weller (20), K. De Castro (16), B. Harvey (14) and A. Saunders fll). B. Harris and I. Hemmingsen each took three wickets and H. Moore and N. Munford two. Five-Pointer To Old Boys. Making 86° runs to Levin's 65, Old Boys had a five poiht win. Old Boys batted first and G. Sciascia, with 27, was the only, patshian to settle down and get runs. N. Sciascia and P. Hannan each made 11, the balance of the runs coming from small contributions by the other . batsmen. D. Lam■bert and K. Hudson shared the •wickets at low cost. Levin's 65 was also made by small scores, the sole batsman to return. double figures being Law (16). C. E. Barraud accounted for five wickets and N. Sciascia four.
