Wool Prices Up 30 Per Cent. At Auckland
AUCKLAND, Nov. 21. Prices at the first wool sale here today averaged during the forenoon at least 30 per ceftt. more than the opening sale last year. The top figure was 60d for 'f our bales of super halfbred from Waiheke Island by well-knowh New Zealand mills. Waiheke seeured top last year 51Sd. American activity was slight. Buying lay betwern Bradford and the Continent. Germany, Italy and Belgium wete well repreSented, htit France was not on the market owing to industriai trouble. There vas activity by buyers for Japan. Representatives of Rhssia were silent. The only bids from , the Americans were for coarse wools mitable for carpet making, and vhich are duty frce.
