WANGANUI, Nov. 18. The exeeutive of the Wanganui division of the British Medical Association today issued an emphatic denial oi stateinents made by the fion. W. J Rogers, M.L.O., at a meeting of the Wanganui Hospitai Board on Thursday The statiuents, as reported, weie tha doctors in Wanganui were certifying elderly people and sending them tt mental institutions simply beCaust there was an absence of accommodatioii in the city for aged and infirm people ! "No aged and infirm people," say.the statement, ' ' wouid be certified b} any two doctors unless mentally infirm and, furthermore, no medical superm tendent who has the right to veto au admission, wouid admit any but a men tally infirm person. Members of tnt British Medical Association regret thai the public has been caused some unfair ness through irresponsible statements as reported."
