Sites For New Schools At Paraparaumu

School sites in the Paraparaumu and Raumati areas were the subject of decisions by the Wellington Education Board last night. The iboard resolved that a second site should be acquired to serve the Paraparaumu township; it would be on the high ground south of Sol'diers' Road. In the Paraparaumu Beach area, a site between Manly and Falla Streets is to be acquired. A site is also to be secured in Beach Road, west of the water tower. In a report to the board, the works committee said the board should continue negotiations for the Fortune property. "The land can be used for interme'diate and secondary school purposes," said the report. "It is recommended that the board negotiate for an alternative area for a primary school, to have a frontage on Matai Roati, and lying south-east of the Fortune property. Steps should also be taken to secure a site to the south of Raumati South Road."
