QUADRANGULAR SHIELD GAMES
The first round of the Quadrangular Shield bowling competition was played on Saturday. Central beat Foxton and Levin accounted for Shannon. Points won as a result are: Central 93, Levin 83, Foxton 81 and Shannon 68. Three rounds are played and the , competition is decided on ah aggregate points basis. Played in conjunction were games in the Southem Mana- ' watu Pennants competition, which is decided on . the basis of two points for a win and one for a draw. First round points gained were as follows: — Central 6, Levin 8, Foxton 2,. Shannon 0. Friendly Games. In a friendly match played between Central and Levin on Saturday the winners were Central by two games to nil (51 points to 31).
