Women Bowlers' Success In Centre Tourney
Playing at Palmerston North in the Manawatu Women's Bowling Centre open pairs tournament, Mesdames C. Walker and Lacey (s) an'd Mesdames Routley and Wickens (s) , of the Levin Ladies',, Club, won three ' games each in section play. Mesdames Hartstonge and Stevens (s) winning four games, quaiified for the postsection play, in the third round of which they went down to a Kilbirnie pair by 10 to 9. * On Wednesday the Levin club played friendly matches against the Levin Central Club. . Detaiis of scores are as follows, Central rinks being mentioned last in each case:— Mesdames Cormack, H. Walker, Lester, McKfinstry (s) 17, beat Finlayson, Bagg, Taylor, Langelan (s) 13. Mesdames Fanning, Long, Tilyard, Gibson (s) 18, beat Dalzell, Hassell, Wilkins, Braid (s) 16, Mesdames Spilman, Ward,- Parsons, Lett (s) 8, lost to Gibson, Common, Sweetman, Sharp (s) 25. Mesdames Johnston, . Bagrie, Parton, RenldLn (s) 8, lost to Lambert, Lester, Seddon, W. Mudgway (s) 21. Mesdames Andrews, Sharp; S'hell, Henderson (s) 17, lost to Hosie, Richards, Poad, A. Mudgway (s) 24. Mesdames Rolfe, Moss, Hayes (s) 15, -ost to Williams, Bruce,Harvey (s) 17. Mesdames Cheesman, Seddon, Sherwood 1 (s) 14, lost to Ma,yne, Hearle, Newton (s) 20.
