NEW PLYMDUTH, Nov. 12.

; Primary production came before politics at Te Whakarae, near Taumarunui, yesterday afternoon, where the Labour candidate for Waimarino (Mf P. Kea rins) was scheduled to give an election campaign address. Only three persons arrived at the" hall for the address. They were Mr Kearins> the chairman of the electorate's Labour Eepresentation Committeq (Mr T. H. Foote), and a reporter. Settlers of the district were taking advantage of the fme weather to shear their sheep, and in a shearing shed opposite the hall operations were in full swing and continued in full swing. The meeting was consequently abandoned.
