WELLINGTON, Nov. 9. A cliase at high speed through Wellington streets yvus described • in evidence in the Magistrate 's Oourt to.day when Gordon Ernest Waller, aged ,25, a millhand, was charged fcitb breaking and entering ^he pyemises of Todd Motors, Ltd., on the night of October 29, and committing theft, and with converting a car valued at £1000, He pleaded guilty; and was committed by Mr. J. Hessell, S.M., to the Supreme Court for sentence. Traffic Inspector G. J. Heaven said in evidence that he had noticod accused driving a car without liglits. He drew his motor-eycle alongside the car and told the driver to Teduce speed. The car later travelled at 60 miles an hour aiid the trafiic inspector gave cliase which ended in tlie car crashing into a wooden and concrete fence. The driver ran away but was eventually cauglit by witness and a eiviliam " . Acting-Detective Petherick said that as a result of inquirie's "accused was arrested on a eharge of breaking into Todd Motors. Accused had admitted breaking glass panejs and doors in the premises, and had said he had. gained access by a fire escape and a window. Accused had driven the car out of a back door.
