The New Zealand women 's tennis teaiu today defeated a Sydnev Universitv toam in a mateh played on the New I South Wales Lawn Tennis AssociaI t.ion 's courts at the WTiite Oity, The New Zealand girls after two games herf: i on hardcourts appreciated the return to j grass and outclassed the University j team to win by 12 sets to nil. j All the New Zealanders need is more 1 hani plav to bring them to their best. Only Misses Potter and Attwmod are I plaving the type of tennis likely to ' troiible the local girls next week in | the mateh against New South Wales, | and in the State championsliips. In- toi day's mateh Miss Potter showed splenj did form, being severe tvith all her sliols, particularly overhead. Iler part- ; uer, Miss Kerr, is still liandicapped by tennis elbow, nevertheless she played ' we.ll. Miss Attwood drove consistently i well and was superb on the smash. Miss ! MacGibbon plaved some good tennis but was erratic.
