Trade Agreement Between N.Z. And Japan
WELLINGTON, Nov. 9. Tlie .Minister of Finanee (Mr Nash) stated todav that Japan 's principal purehases from New Zealand under the new trade agreement between Japan and certain Commonwealtli storling area countries was expeeted to comprise wool, hilles and skins. New Zealand would probably import from J'apan ossential materials for industry. adequate supplies of which were not available from ihe United Kingdoni, including certai m 1 ext iles, silks, yams, oak timber ami veneers and plyjvood. Mr Nash added that the first agreement to which New Zealand 'was a partv covered July 1, 194S, to June 30. 1049, and the new agreement related to the 1949-50 period.
