Personal. Mr. and JVlrs. I. McLoehlan, who have been visiting Wellington, have reuurned to Shannon to spend a* few ,days with Mr. and Mrs. J. Ryrie, Margaret Street, prior to returning to their home at Hamilton. WJ. Rose Show. The scheduje for the Shannon Women's Institute's rose show has now been comp.eted and contains 82 events covering nine sections. This year's_ show is to 'bs held in the Parish Hall on November 23. The Mayoress, Mrs. D. A. Fitzgerald, is the convener of ihe show and Mrs. J. T. Bovis is the secretary. It is expected that an excellent variety of blooms will be on display. Ploughing Trophy. At present on display in Shannon is a handsome trophy donated by the Manawatu Machinery Exchange and competed for at the Moutoa Young Farmers' Club's flrst annual ploughing competition held during September. The cup was won by Mr. Harry G. Ward. The award was made^to the competitor gaining the most points in any tractor event. The trophy is for annual competition and will be retained by any competitor winning it three times, not necessarily in succession, Church Bazaar. The Anglican La'dies' Guild has arrangements well in hand for its annual bazaar and sale of work, which is to be held in the Parish Hall tomorrow afternoon and evening. The official opening will take place at 2 p.m, and there will be a large assortment of artic'les available to those lucky enough to be there early. The proceeds of the bazaar are to be used for the enlarging of the hall supper room. The evening attractions will include dancing and competitions.
