Silver Wedding Anniversary Celebrated
Well known and popular president of the AthletiC Fodtball dltib, Mr. H. A. F. Rippin, ahd Mrs. Rippin, were 'hosfcs to over 200 guesfcs recently in celebration of the silver jubilee of their wedding, Mn and Mrs. Rippin were married on October 1, 1924. Motueka, Lower Hutt, Wellington, Wanganui an'd- the Levin district were well represented amorig the many guests, and also a large representation of the Athletic sports clubs. Pride of place on the supper table was given a magnificent cake made by Mrs. D. J. Gardiner and icCd by Mr. "A.- C. Kennerley. Thg toast "the bi;ide and groom" Was propoSed by M£. C. R. Hosie, who had spdbsored the saihe toast at the wedding 25 years ago. On behalf of -the Athletic . Football Club, Mr. D. Mercer pfesented Mr. and Mrs. Rippin with a silver tea service and on behalf of the Athletic Basketball Club, hs president, Mrs. W. Galloway, presented Mrs. Rippin with a silver mounted nut bdwl. Dancing occupied a major part of the evening, capably supervised by Mr. D. Collier and to music supplied by Mrs. Campbell. Extras were given by Messrs W. Ward and P. Frederikson.
