Personal. Messrs J. Mason and A. D. Crosbie, of Main Street, have returned from a short holiday in the North. Mr. Leo. Blanc'he, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Blanche, of Lupin Road, who was injured in a fall at jthe Otaki races, has been discharged from hospital and is able to resume work. From Hobart To Otaki. A ticket in an overseas consultation, held by ,a Main Street notable, has won a £50 prize. Twelve months ago the same resident was the hodder of a ticket which won twice this amount. Big-top Draws Crowd. Barton's Circus was the hub of attraction in Otaki on Tuesday night and, as on a former visit, the attendance was exeeptionally large. All seem to have been more
than p'.ease'd. with the variety of . entertainment provided, with the ^ mnger generation still enjoying the many turns. Good Run Of Whitebait. The lucky few who have not "given up the ghost" as far aS catching whitebait is concerned were amply rewarded for their enduring patience when on Wednesday the elusive little fish decided to run in the Otaki River. Some wonderful "lifts," up to six pints, are reported with eatches in some cases from 10 to 16 pints. Card Evening Successes. The fortnightly card evenings held by the Otaki Band were continued on Tuesday night, with the usual satisfactory number in attendance. Prize winners were: Mesda.mes H. Arcus, W. Anderson and R. Bills (firsts), and Miss M. Bills and Mr. G. Jorey (seconds). Mrs. H. Arcus and Miss R. Royal were the winners of special ■awards.
