HISTORY OF OTAKI
Some months ago the Otaki Borough Council decided that the time was opportune for the collection of historical facts relating to Otaki and district. An appeal was made to residents in possession of any historical facts to either contact the apoointee, Mr. Selwyn Simcox, of Manakau, or to leave any information at "The Chronicle" Office. In conversation recently Mr. Simcox said that >mueh data^ had been gathered and a great deal of work done in the matter. Mr. Simcox, who has devoted considerable time and effort to the task to date, believes that there is still muc'h valuable dnformation with which he could be aequainted, and he would be grateful if those in possessioiY of items of interest would contact him as early as possible. If there is any difficulty in doing so, items could be written out and left at this office or, if preferred, an interview could be arranged. Readers who can help in any way are earnestly asked to give this matter immediate consideration. It is the wish of Mr. Sim-r ,cox that the result should be a worth while one and any assistance given now will be appreciated.
