Threats To Kill Alleged Against Seaman
XEW BLYMOFTH, Oct. 12, Threats to kill allegedly made to Bessie Monoa Anglem, of 94 Marine Parade, Bluff, in a letter posted at Wrellington, were the subject of a eharge against Gerald Alfred Hodges, seaman, aged 22, in the Rolice Court at Xew Plymouth today. He was remanded in cnstody to appear tomorrow. Hodges, a single man, deseribed as a native of England, was arrested this afternoon. He is a member of the crew of the steamer WTaipahi now in port at Xew Plymouth. The letter is alleged to have been sept by Hodges between. July 1 and 31, 1949. The ingredient of the eharge in respect of the letter is that he serit it ' ' knowing the contepts th»reof . ' ;
