Received Wednesday, 7.30 p.m. CANBERRA, Oct. 12. The Minister of Immigration, Mr. Calwell, said in the. House of Representatives that this year Anstralia expects to receive 167,748 permanent new arrivals, while anticipated permanent departures will ntmiber 19,562. With the natural increase, the Australian population should increase by the uneciualled figure of 250,000. In the first six months this year Australia received more immigrants than any other British Dominion and by the end of the year will have received more than Canada, South Arica and New Zealand combined.
