Table Tennis Championships Played Off
Last night in the Regent Hall before an audience of nearly 100 ' spectators the table tennis' championships were decided. The tournament began on Monday night with the A grade and on Tuesday night the B and C grades were played off. The general standard of play was on the whole very good and very keen. Last night saw some excellent play in ail grades, but the most thrilling and spectacular game was the A grade ladies. It was table tennis at its best and the crowd was not slow in showing its appreciation. The winners are to be congratulated on their performances. The results of the matches are as follows: — Women. — A grade: Miss B. Powell beat Mrs. B. Henderson 21 — 13, 16—21, 21 — 16. B grade: Miss ^M. Clapcott beat Miss A. Leong 21—19, 21—11. C grade: Mrs. L. Buckingham beat Miss P. Wickens 21—13, 21—16. Men. — A grade: C. Harvey beat H. Ruihi 21—13, 21—14. B grade: R. Buckingham beat J. Powell 22 — 20, 21 — 16. C grade: K. Hesp beat B. Fitzgerald 22 — 24, 21 — 17, 21—19.
