Dog Lovers In Levin Form Kennel Club
The formation of an organisation which will bring dog lovers together for ribbon parades, shows and other activities was decided on at a meeting held in Levin on Tuesday night. It will he known as the Horowhenua Kennel Club. The attendance was not large, but promises of membership and assistance were received from a number unable to be present. Mr. H. A. Jacobson, the convener, occupied the chair. Offieers were elected as follows: — Patron : Mr. H. B. Burdekin; president: Mr. A. Carian; committee: Mesdames H. A. Jacobson and A. Carian, and Messrs H. McGuire, L. W. Alien and P. J. Rombaut, with power to add; hon. secretary: Mr. H. A. Jacobson; hon. veterinary surgeon: Mr. R-. H. Long. Ine president and secretary were deputed to draw up rules and submit a draft to the next meeting for approval. With a view to interesting Otaki citizens in the club it was resolved to convene a meeting there at an early date. The annual subseription was fixed at 7s 6d per family or individually. It was decided to commence activities with a ribbon parade on Saturday, November 26. Preliminary arrangements in connection with this hxture were discussed. A further meeting is to be held in the Red Cross Rooms on Monday next to which all members and intending members are invited.
