LONDON PRICES UP
Received Friday, 11.15 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 6. The fifth series of the London wool saies for 1949 continued today with an offering of 23,445 bales, of which 22,850 were sold. The catalogue included 9982 bales from New Zealand and 11,51.6 from Australia. Demands were sustained throughout. Britain secured most of the good style Merino combings and Europe about half the other descriptions. Greasy Merino was up fully 5 per cent., scoured up to 5 per cent., New Zealand crossbreds 5 to 7^ per cent., and slipes 5 per cent., compared witli last week's saies.
