On The Links At Otaki
On Saturday last the ibisque bogey played by the Otaki Golf Club was won by N. Jepson with •one up. The competitions on Sunday, played in conjunction with the open day for the Wellington Dis•criet Golf Association, resulted in an almost clean sweep for E. H. Gray. Gray won the afternoon bogey with four up, the gross aggregate over 36 holes with 69— 68 — 137, the nett aggregate with the same score, and the prize for the lowest gross score under 70. Gray almost succeeded in the morning medal, Gray, L. G. Gimblett and P. Willis all returning nett 69's; but Gimblett was the winner on the count-back. . Next Saturday no organised matches will be played apart from the finals of the championships, and members are urged to attend the annual tournament of the Buckley Golf Club to be played on the Saturday and Sunday. The Captain v. Secretary match, originally set down to be played on October 8, will now be played on October 15. Over the Labour weekend, as the Levin club will be holding- its annual tournament, no organised matches will be played at Ot,aki. It is intended to close the season on October 29.
