■ Last Saturday saw the opening of the Hautere Defenee Rifle Club's new season with a friendly shoot agaihst Onslow over 300,- 500 and 600 yards. The weather was ideal, but the visitors proved too strong for' the home team. The scores were as follows: — Onslow: W.^Fettes 100, E. Ballinger 99, E. Enley 98, F. Thomas 97, D. Mackersay 95, F.
