No fresh development has occurred at the weekend and it is understood that .the murder weapon has not yet been recovered. One line on inquiry at the weekend concerned an old model motor car iu which two men were seen in Centrai Otago. It is stated ofiicially tonight that the car had been found by the police and that the vehicle was in no way connected with the case. It has been alleged that about 3 p.m. Jast Wednesday, a stranger was seen in the vieinity of the woolshed in which the 63-year-old Moa Cieek farmer, William Fraser Mclntosh, was brutallv killed that afternoon. The police are anxlious to interview this stranger. Police inquiries which were maintain ed throughout the weekend, will be eou tinued tomorrow. The fact that strangers to the district might have gone unobserved on the fateful Wednesday afternoon, is rogarded by residents of Ida Valley as less remarkable than it qiight at first appear. The murder is believed to have taken place during the radio broadcast of the final Ranfurly Shield match of the season and most residents of the district who had not visited Dunedin for the event, would be close to their radios during the afternoon.
