Colonel J. R. Page Given New Command

WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. The Minister of Defenee, Mr. * Jones, announced today that Lieut -Colonel J. R. Page will succeed Brigadier R. S. Park, who will retire next February from the command of Northern Military District, which he has held since May, 1947. Mr. Jones paid trlbute to Brigadier Park's record of service, saying that he would be missed by the many soldiers who had benefited from his outstanding leadership. Colonel Page was an All B.ack rugby player from 1931 to 1935.
