Ttie letter stated that the views contained therein were those of the attiiiated unions and their 220,000 members. "As bread encers into the household budget of every wage-earner in the Dominion, and is indeed the staple item of diet, it is the hope of the-wage workers that your tribunal will investigate and view the apolication - with particular care, with the object of keeping the price of br ad at its present level," stated the letter. "Shouid the tribunal see fit to increase the price of bread, we feel it would immediately reflect itself in the consumer's price index, have a direct and important bearing on the cost of living of wage workers and be .a factor that the Court of Arbitration wou'd be obliged to take into consideration in any future application for general or particular wage increases." The letter was signed by the secretarv. Mr. K. Baxter.
