The claim that Otago radio transmitters in September and October, 1924, established the first radio contacts between New Zear iland aifd the United States, Argentina, England and France is challenged on the ground that Mr. Ivan O'Meara", of Gisborne, held a two- • way convprsation with Senor Carlos • Braggio, of Beunos Air es, in May, 1923 Tliis exploit was recognised by the award to Mr. O'Meara by $ip Christchurch Radio Society of a silver cup commemoratin-g the original two-way ' trans-Paeific communication. -
