Pre-Wedding Social Given To Popular Couple

W ... I . The Parish Hall was filled almost to capacity on Monday evening when members of the vestry and ladies' guil'd of the Ven. Bede's Anglican • Chureh arranged a pre-wedding social in honour of Miss Ngaire Peaeh and Mr. Selwyn Hyde/' Although dancing occupied tne greater part. pf the evening, : items were pre-> :sented by Miss Joan Swindlehurst' (piano solos) - ahd the -Misses 'Whiti and Miss Ramsay (vocal nuinbers). Music fo;r dancing was provided by Mrs. T. Fuller. ' Prior to the serving . of supper opportunity was taken by the Rev. M. J. S. Wheeler to cOhgratulate the guests of honour and, on behalf of the church, wish them every "happiness in their future life together. Mr. Wheeler said that the young couple had done much in the interests of the chureh and he hoped that they would continue to take an active interest in its activities. On behalf 'Of Miss Peach • and himself, Mr. Hyde extended thanks to the church for arran'ging the function and thanked those present for eoming along. The two guests of .honour then set about opening the many gifts which will prove most useful in their future home. After completing the task, Mr. Hyde again extende'd thanks to all those responsible. • A delightful supper was served by# the ladies of the guild and dancing eontinued until a late hour. ________________
