Careless Parking: Warning To Motorists

"The parking of vehicles in the town is becoming lax again, as motorists are parking two to three feet out from the kerb. I have issued several warnings for this kind of offence. A very glaring case was of a vehicle parked right across a corner, with the engine idling, and no one in the vehicle. Further tickets will have to be issued for this type of offence." These remarks were contained in the monthly report of the traffic inspector, Mr. C. L. Davis, to the Otaki Borough Council. The report also said that for the month of August 31 tickets were issued. Wandering stock at Rangiuru has been causing the1 inspector and the ranger concern, and the report added that difficulty had been met with when attempts had been made to impound them. "Until the cattle are impounded and a claim made for them, it is not easy to find to whom they belong." The report added that fire plugs were not very conspicuous at the present time and urged re-mark-ing. '
