Rahui Footballers Farewell Senior Player

Members of the Rahui senior football team gathered _ at the residence of their coach", Mr. C. Pussell, to say au revoir to a popular member of the team in the person of Mr. P. Phillips, who has taken a business appointment in Rotorua. During the evening Mr! A. Wa.tt called on the guest to accept a very fine present from fellow club members. The speaker stated that Mr. Phillips had set a splendid example for attendance, both at play and at practice, and he would be missed greatly. Mr. H. Wylie said that although the club was sorry to lose their departing guest, all would wish him the very best in his new sphere. Mr. J. Winterburn (captain), Mr. B. Wallis (vice-captain) and Mr. Pussell all paid tribute to the sportsmanship of Mr. Phillips, and added their appreciation of what he had done for the club. The wish was expressed that possibly next year would see the Rahui club pay a visit to Rotorua and compete against the club that Mr. Phillips would be playing for.
