Britain Buys Housing Timber From Russia
Received Thursday, 11.5 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 14. ( Britain had signed a contract| with Russia for almost 100,000 standards of timber— enough for 67,000 to 70,000 houses, the President of the Board of Trade, Mr. Harold Wilson, said today. He added: "I have told the Soviet that we are willing to double or treble that figure if they can make the timber available. We are huying millions of tons of food from Russia and are nursuing trade wherever it can be found."
