Anglo-American Talks On Foreign Policy
Received Weduesdav, 7 p.m. WARRINGTON, Sept. 13. Mr. Bevin and Mr. Acheson today dipc-ussed Far East arid Middle East problems for three hours. They later announced that the talks had develoned a "pominnn understanding" on policy. The Ministers, in a joint communique, said thev had not met to reach a speciiic * agreement. They xegarded the talks as being of the greatest help "in developing policy along parallel lines." The communique, added that today 's meeting was the first of several to be lield in Washington. The Ministers would meet again tomorrow. The Washington meetings would be followed by the closest consultation after Mr. Bevin retuvned to London. "In some areas whicli were imdcT discussion, the situation as it affeeted the two countries, was of conrse not identical but the discussion revealed similaritv of opinion regarding objeetiyes to be sought and policies which would be most effective in reaehing them."
