WHANGAREI, Sept. 8. The back shift at the Kamo State coal mine was idle on Tuesday owing to a dispute about working time. Yesterday the day shift was also idle' for the purpose of holding a general meeting of the Miners' Union to discuss the points in the dispute. At a meeting between the management and miners' representatives an amicable settlement was reached and the miners resum'ed normal work on the back shift yesterday after one day's production had been lost. This is the first occasion that any time has been lost through a dispute since the Government took over the Kamo mine in January of lasb year.
