Show Entries Close Tomorrow

Tomorrow at 4.30 p.m. at "The Chronicle" Offlce, Otaki, entries close for Friday's spring flower show. The Otaki Horticultural Society is making an all out effort to place its attractions on the high pinnacle formerly enjoyed, and looks forward to a most generous measure of public support. Besides points and individual prizes, a lengthy list of special prizes appears in the schedule, while three valuable silvei' cups also are offered to exhibitors. Doors open at 2 p.m. Competitors in the open class will compete for Mrs. C. V. Swabey's cup, while Mr. E. T. Bartosh's cup is for the champion of champions bloom. The amateur class, single bloom section, sees the Kingdon cup on the list of prizes to be awarded. An innovation which should appeal to lovers of flowers is the request made by the society to exhibitors that where possible they place the names on their exhibits. Late entries may be made by telephone with the secretary up to 7 p.m. and the show is to be officially opened by the Australian High Commissioner, Mr. A. ,R. Cutler, V.C., at 3 p.m. Schedules may be had on apphcation to "The Chronicle" Offlce.
