Severe Head Injury When Drum Explodes

NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 6. A severe head injury was receiveu by Mr. T. R. McCuilum, garage proprietor at Tariki, when an exupty 44gallon drum whicli he was cutting with an acetylene torch, exploded this afternoon. His c-ondition was reported subsequentlv bv the Stratford ITospital to be serious. The explosion was apparentlv caused by the ignition of fumes inside the drum.
