Radio Patrol Locates Lost Child
AUCKLAND, Sept.. 1. A woman's frantic efforts to find a lost child in Auckland quickly enough to enable her to catch the train to Hamilton, helped to prove the value of the city traffie department 's radio patrol cars this week. Before she had time to reach the Central police station, one of the department 's cars had found the child, an eight.-year-old girl, ' near the zoo gatcs and had returned to the city with her. Visiting the city from Haipilton, the woman was accompanied by her daughter and five other children. She spent the afternoon at the zoo witlr them and late in the day the party boarded a tram to go to the railway station. When the journey to the station was nearly finished, the woman realised that her daughter was not with the party.
