The Queensland Prepiier's (Mr. Hanlon)' easy hom'e purchase plan is a liberalisation and extension of the existing workers/ liomes apd workers' dwellings schc-me which has been operating for many years. The pro-; posed variations include a system of lav-by deposits by which .ptersons will be able to lodge payments in th'e Treasurv until sufficient is accumulated to pay a- deposit on a home purchase. These pavnients will be subject to a subsidy by the Government at a rate "somewhere about twico as much as would bo received from a savings bank.
