WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. Eeference to equipment- which would be valuable for the control of snaesthesia and an early indication of dangerous trends in the condition of a. patient, is made in the annual report of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research presented to Parliament today. The Auckland industrial developmeut lahoratories stated in their section of the report that a prototype pulse-recorder had been designed and constructed. After slight modifications some most interesting records were obtained during major operations at the Auckland Public Hospital and Green Lane Hospital, Auckland. It was hoped to combine this equipment with the blood-pressure recording equipment now being developed at the Dominion physical lahoratory so as to provide a valuable piece of equipment- for the control of anaesthesia and the early indication of dangerous trends.
