.LONDON, Sept. I. Yehudi Menuhin, world fanious violinist, has been threatened with action for a breach of contraet because he has refused to plav at a coneert on Oetober ^ whieh is tho Jewish Day of Atonement or "yom kippur. " Menuhin stated that when he signed a contraet to play in Manchester on Oetober 2 he did not know that Yom Kippur would fall on that day. When he was informed of this, he told the union he could not play but the union refused to aceept an alternative date and threatened to bring an action for breach of contract. There is at present , a complete deadloek in the nogotiaiions. !
