An Earthquake Felt Every Three Days

WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. There were 127 earthquakes reported as felt in 1948, stated the Director of the Seisomological Ohservatory, Mr. R. C. Hayes, in his section of the annual report of the Department of ScientifLc and Industrial Research, which Parliament received today. Eighty-one of the shocks were felt in the North Island hut the largest distnrhance and strongest shock was recorded in the Hamner-Waiau region of Canterbury.
