Shannon Horse Sports Club Holds Meeting
The annual general meeting of the Shannon Horse Sports . Club Was held reeently wheh the president, Mr. S. W. Barber, presided over about twenty members. The secretary, Mr. R. Vinsen, read the report of the meeting of eombined committee; that the clubs be notified of the date of the the eombined horse sports clubs held at Manakau early ih the month and the report was received by* the meeting. - It was resolved that the following remits be forwarded to the eombined clubs' meeting so that individual clubs may hoM their annual meetings before that date; that the executive committee endeavour to procure a hlanket insurance cover of all clubs to include spectators, competitors and working bees; that each club notify the eombined meeting of any disqualifications of competitors at their meetings. In his report of the club's activities over the past year, the president made mention of the lack of interest shown by spectators in events outside those for horses. Mr, Barber extended thanks to his committee and all members who had co-operated with him over the past season. The followiiig officers were elected for the coming year: — President: Mr. S. W. Barber; vicepresidents: Messrs R. R. Lind and W. Moynihan; secretary: Mr. R. E. Vinsen; treasurer: Mr. A. F. Edmonds; auditor: Mr. J. T. Bovis; executive committee: Messrs Barber, Vinsen, Edmonds, C. Guerin and R. R. Lind. * It was decided to hold the next general meeting* in October and the meeting close'd with a vote of thanks to the chair.
