Levin Institute's Monthly Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Levin Women's Institute was held recently, Mrs. Powell presiding over a fair attendance. Two new members were enrolled. Mrs. Sharpe spoke of the outstanding success of the institute's players in the recent drama festival conducted by the South Welington Federa'tion and congratulated Mrs. Powell (the producer) and members of the cast on their very excellent performance. Mrs. Powell thanked members who had assisted in so many ways, mentioning Mrs. Hannan, the Misses Atack, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Sharpe and Mesdames Parfect, Perigo and Bowater. The demonstrator for the afternoon was Mrs. Donnelly, who gave an interesting insight into modern flower arrangements. She was accorded a hearty vote of thanks and presented with a small gift. Competition winners were: — Flowers : Mrs. Hall 1, Mrs. Suhan 2, Mrs. Milne' 3. Shrubs: Mrs. Suhan 1, Mrs. GrifRths 2, Mrs. Hall 3, Vegetables; Mrs. Hall 1, Miss Atack 2. Handkerchief : Mrs. Harvey 1, Mrs. Griffiths 2, Mrs. Hudson 3. Overseas competition: Mrs. Shaw.
