Champion Hereford For N.Z.

Received Thursday, 7 p.m. LOXDON, August 11. Seven pedigree Hereford heifers, including the Hereford champion at the Royal Show, are being shipped to New Zealand for*Mr. J. C. Alexander, of Wanganui. Mr. Alexander, after visitiug several British shows, was so impressed by English Herefords that he sent a cable to his brother suggestiug they should start a lierd in New Zealand. "\Vhen his brother agreed, Mr. Alexander bought over the telephone Halesend Countess from Mr. L. • P. Lord,. chairman of the Austin Motor (■ompaiiy. Halesend Countess, a few days Jater, was adjudged Ro}ral Show champion. All Mr. Alexander 's heifers are being mated with the best stock bulls in England before leaving for Xew Zealand.
