Polio's Big Hold in United States
+ o WASHIXGTOX, August 10. Xew cases of infantile paralvsis throughout the United States last week — 2451 — were a 2.7 per eent increase over tho previous week, the Public Health Service. reported today. So far this year 10,748 cases have been notified. This figure is over ,'1700 higher than the total for the same piriod last year which was the seeond worst paralvsis year in the nation 's history. The Health Service did not give the number of deatlis but tliere have been 71 in Xew York State where the total of paralvsis cases today reached 1149.
