Fat Stock Prices Firm At Levin
Good yardings of fat sheep and fat cattle, a light yarding of pqrkers and dairy stock and a, small yarding of run cattle came forward at the Levin stock sale yesterday. Prices for fat stock were •fully firm on recent saies, with a slight improvement in beef, and a total clearance was effected at values very satisfactory toVendors, . Quotations ranged as follows:— Fat sheep: Fat ewes, 39s 7d to 40s 10d; fat wethers, 59s 10d to 61s lOd,; toiack faeed. Itwo-tooths, 55s 4d to 61s ld; fat hoggets, 37s lOd to 45s 74. Pigs: Medium poskers, £4 -5s to £5 10s; heavy do., £5 '16s to £6 3s; baconers, £6 8s, £6 14s up to £7 8s; store pigs, £3 5s toi £3 7s 6d. Dairy cattle: Heifers close to profit, £13, £15. 10s. to £16 5s; two-year-old P.A. steers, £9 8s to £10 9s. Fat cattle: Runners, £10 17s 6d to £12 2s 6d; prime P.A. heifers, £15 12s 6d, £16 17s 6d u'p to £17 7s 6d; Prime P.A. cows, £14 17s 6d to £15 12s 6d; extra prime heavy do., £17 7s 6d to £18 12s 6d.
